When art meets technology, something magical happens. And in Buenos Aires, that magic materialized in an unparalleled experience: the world’s largest virtual reality exhibition, Björk Digital, which featured a series of interactive pieces accompanying her album Vulnicura. After touring iconic cities such as Tokyo, Sydney, Montreal, Reykjavik, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Barcelona, the artist Björk, in collaboration with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, decided to bring her revolutionary project to Argentina. At VWX, we were entrusted with bringing that vision to life.

For 96 days, more than 20,000 people immersed themselves in a unique sensory and visual universe. In a 900 m² space, we created an environment that combined the best of technology and art. We installed four virtual reality cinemas, each equipped with over 80 VR headsets to transport attendees to Björk’s surreal and sonic landscapes. Additionally, we designed an interactive tablet room and an audiovisual room, where visitors could explore the many facets of the Icelandic artist’s universe.

The magnitude of this experience lay not only in its technological display but in the emotional connection it generated. Each room invited participants to deeply immerse themselves in Björk’s sounds and visuals, as they journeyed through a sensory narrative that pushed the boundaries of conventional art. What began as a project brought from England evolved, under our direction, into an unprecedented event for Buenos Aires’ cultural scene.
